A beautiful vintage trinket box, dating from the early 1900's and made by Barbour Silver, CT. Silver plated in their "quadruple plate" and lined with gold silk, the box is an elongated quatrefoil shape with a hinged lid that has been etched with a flowing foliate design. Former owner's initials engraved to center. Some scuffing to the engraving and mild signs of wear to the silver. Edges of the box have been decorated with a repoussee design of scrolls and flowers. The whole is mounted on four ball legs. Marked to the base.
Condition: Very good for the age. The box shows only mild scuffing here and there and the silk is surprisingly good with only a little fraying and soiling.
