An extremely rare pair of late 18th century American curtain tiebacks (pulls).
Originally from an old house in Maine, this beautiful brass pair are hand painted in royal blue and gold; a raised pattern of sheaves of wheat upon a ground of vivid monochrome blue.
3.75" in diameter and 4" in length, they could easily be used to once again hold back drapery or could be re-invented as an embellishment in a dressing room for hanging necklaces. Stunning too as a decorative item on a pile of books.
A beautiful piece of American decorative history. One of a kind.
