A beautiful Art Nouveau sterling bonbon dish by the Meriden Britannia Company and dating from around 1895. Meriden was founded in Hartford, Connecticut and made affordable silverplate, and quality sterling pieces. If you would like to read more about the company please find it here: http://www.silvercollection.it/MERIDENBRITANNIACO.html
This lovely little bonbon dish has been inspired by Art-Nouveau with its flowing floral detail. It is a lovely but light piece of work and in very good condition although the base exhibits some light denting, and there is the occasional bit of tarnish. I cleaned it lightly with a silver cloth and then left it at that.
It would make a wonderful wedding present or an addition to your American silver collection.
Hallmarked to the back.
